June Recap

I have been really bad about posting what I have been up to. So here is an update.

4-Wheeling at the Cabin. We went on some really great rides. Some adventure was added as one of the 4-wheelers died coming down the mountain as it was starting to pour rain. A great weekend though!

The Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove. It was pouring rain and so cold but it was way fun. I really love the muttin bustin and the bull riding.

Bluffdale's Demolition Derby

Aren't these the types of people you would expect to see at a demolition derby. So fun to people watch.

Thanks, but no Thanks

Yesterday one of my best friends got married. I was helping with the wedding luncheon and while in the kitchen at the church my old Beehive leader from back in Young Women's says to me, "Suzy! We met the cutest boy on Tracks. He goes to BYU, he is perfect for you. I'm going to set you up." Thanks for the thought but the answer is definately no. Now really, how well can you get to know someone while riding the tracks to know that he is perfect for me? I just found this humorous.

I Heart American Idol

I have been a big fan of American Idol over the years. I love it from beginning to end. I love the crazy people who try out and I love the big finale. There have been great seasons and incredibly lame seasons (can we just say Fantasia Barino never should have been in the top 3 let alone winner. I ended up boycotting that season). That being said, this season has been my favorite by far. When we went into the top 13 I was totally all for Danny Gokey, but then Kris Allen really emerged on the scene and I started to really like him. I think that he tied for favorite with Danny country week when he sang "Make You Feel My Love" and then he surpassed Danny when he first sang "Ain't no Sunshine". I feel that Kris has been the most consistent all season long at delivering great performances. And I love that he can play the piano and guitar! Bonus! While there have been moments throughout the season where Danny became my number 1, I am glad that Kris is in the final 2. I definatly voted for Kris last night and I really hope he wins. Kris is the ultimate good guy, and he just has a ton of talent. I Heart Kris! When it really comes down to it I think that Adam is super talented, but one can only handle so much screaming and quite honestly, he really creeps me out. Think "Burning Ring of Fire", so creepy.

An Update

So I haven't posted in over a month. Here is an update of what I have been up to.

I went to my first rugby game ever. I froze my butt off. This picture took about 10 trys.

Disneyland with the family! Whoo! I love Disneyland so much. We went for my mom and Melissa's birthday. It was so much fun!

Here we are on my favorite ride ever, Splash Mountain. At some point during our two days at Disneyland every single one of us was soaked because of this ride.

Waiting for It's a Small World. There are some rides you have to always go on, no matter how lame they may be. You may notice the look of pure joy on Reed's face as he can not wait to go on this ride.

At the end of our two days. We were on Main Street and we were leaving. You may notice that my Dad is wet from Splash Mountain.

I have been trying to read the Count of Monte Cristo for ages. I bought it a few summers ago and I always started it but never got that far into it. I just couldn't get into it in the summer's and then I didn't feel like I could justify reading it while I was in school and had text books to read. I am proud to say I have finally read it. Oh yeah, it was unabriged. Super long but way good.

So a few fun things have happened in the last bit. I am looking forward to an awesome summer.

A Letter to Spring

Dear Spring,

You have played a dirty rotten trick on me. Seeing as today is April Fools day (my least favorite day of the entire year), I feel the need to address the issue. Towards the end of February you snuck in on Winter and gave me Spring like weather. I was quite grateful for this gift. Through the beginning half of March I continued to show my gratitude for such weather. I spent more time outside, I wore flip flops, I went on walks to see the beautiful blooming flowers, I started to smell the fragrances of spring, and I even wore shorts one beautiful Saturday. I was pleased with you.

The past week and a half you have turned your back on me. Your once warm hand of friendship has turned icy cold. You have sent me snow storm after snow storm (and today is no exception), always in the morning which makes my commute to work difficult. You are an Indian giver, giving me beautiful weather and then taking it back.

While this behavior is very characteristic of you, I somehow hoped that this year might be a little different. I am even willing to compromise with you. You can snow up in the mountains all you want but please give me some sunshine and warm temperatures in the valley. Please be my friend again.

Sincerely,
Suzy Anderson

P.S. I would appreciate a quick response to the matters addressed above.
